Dr Monique Lhussier – Associate Professor in Public Health and Wellbeing

Having graduated as an engineer in biological sciences, and with a masters in cellular nutrition and later a PhD in sociology, Monique is a lifelong researcher with an unusually broad background whose most recent profile and direction are focussed around welfare, wellbeing and marginalisation. Particular areas of interest and expertise are around the evaluation of complex interventions.

Sharon Vincent – Reader in Social Work

Sharon Vincent joined Northumbria University in September 2014. She has many years’ experience of conducting research in the area of child protection and safeguarding. She was previously a Reader in Social Welfare in the Centre for Health and Social Care Improvement (CHSCI) at the University of Wolverhampton. She has also worked at the University of Edinburgh/NSPCC Centre for UK-wide Learning in Child Protection, the Scottish Social Work Services Inspectorate, Scottish Government and Barnardo’s. Her particular areas of interest include child death review processes and prevention of child deaths from abuse and neglect, comparative child protection research and policy analysis, early intervention to prevent abuse and neglect, and resilience.
